Why aren't my steps syncing from my health app?

If you're unable to sync steps, here's what might be causing it and how to fix it

Apple Health

You need to connect the Steptember app with your Apple Health app to share the data. If you are getting the notification "Unable to sync steps", ensure your app permissions are switched on:

  1. Open the Settings app > select the Apple Health app > Data Access & Devices > Steptember

  2. Make sure all app permissions are switched on, if not, select 'Turn On All'.

Google Health

You need to connect the Steptember app with your Google Health app to share the data.

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Health app

  2. Tap Profile > Settings > Manage Connected Apps.

  3. To see the full list of connected apps, tap the dropdown arrow and find the Steptember app and ensure it is connected.

Note: The Steptember app syncs with your device's health app (Apple Health, Google Health), not directly with wearable devices.

To ensure your steps are tracked correctly, make sure your wearable is connected to and syncing with your health app first. Once your data appears in your health app, it will then sync to the Steptember app.

Please note - Connecting your wearable to your devices health app is managed outside of the Steptember app.
