How do I connect the STEPtember App with Google Fit or Apple Health?
Updated over a week ago

The STEPtember app manually syncs with Google Fit (Android users) or Apple Health (iOS users). So first, make sure you connect your wearable e.g. e.g. Fitbit with Google Fit or Garmin with Apple Health.

Then, in your STEPtember app account, select 'Log Your Steps' and choose 'Sync from Apple Health' or 'Sync from Google Fit'.

If you are recording your steps or activity any other way, then you will need to add your daily steps and activity manually.

Google Fit

You need to connect the STEPtember app with your Google Fit app to share the data.

  1. On your Android phone, open the Google Fit app

  2. Tap Profile > Settings

  3. Tap Manage connected apps.

  4. To see the full list of connected apps, tap the dropdown arrow and find the STEPtember App and ensure it is connected.

Apple Health

You need to connect the STEPtember app with your Health app to share the data.

  1. On your iOS phone, open settings

  2. Select Health

  3. Scroll down to DATA > Data Access & devices

  4. Select the STEPtember App and ensure data is selected to 'Turn on all'

As a not-for-profit, and to ensure all fundraising support makes the biggest possible impact for people with cerebral palsy, we keep development costs down by relying on Google FIT and Apple Health to access data from a wide range of wearables and apps.

If you have trouble with connecting your wearable/fitness app to Apple Health or Google FIT we are happy to provide any support we can. Please contact us and we'll be more than happy to assist.
